Camp Laurelwood in Madison, CT is an amazing place to have a wedding. For couple’s who may have grown up going to summer camp, or got a little too addicted to movies like Moonrise Kingdom and Wet Hot American Summer – this is the ultimate place to host a fantasy-turned-reality wedding.
It’s not for the faint of heart. Camp Laurelwood is a really rustic place – you know: a camp. Choosing to get married here means you have a real connection with nature, and love all of the things a camp can offer – from outdoor activities to hiking to even adding a little DIY into your wedding planning.

Why It’s Great for Weddings
Camp Laurelwood is located on a beautiful wooded property that was founded as a summer camp way back in the 1930’s. Today, the properties 140 acres can serve as an amazing backdrop for a place to say “I do”, as well as keep family & friends entertained for an entire wedding weekend.
It goes without saying, but we’ll say it anyways, Camp Laurelwood is definitely not a traditional wedding venue by any means. While the ceremony site and reception mess hall are both easily accessible and make total sense for events like this, all of the other features are what really attract us.
The abundance of amenities and a great staff make this a destination that is a fun retreat just as much as it can be a place to celebrate a wedding. We roughed it with many of the other wedding guests in rustic cabins (you can accommodate up to 250 guests on site!). We watched as wedding guests mingled and had fun together playing baseball, kayaking on the lake, and so much more. Remember – it’s a camp, so all of the activities you can think of are available.
