Joanna + Eric | Rodale Institute | Lehigh Valley Wedding Photography

Every year we get the opportunity to meet interesting and incredible couples. Joanna & Eric have been so memorable for us from the first email exuding excitement and a love for our photography style, to shooting engagement photos together at their farm (yes – farm!) with special guests like Ham (the pig) and Badonkadonk (the donkey). When the time came around for their wedding at The Rodale Institute in Kutztown, PA – of course we were super excited. This is a gorgeous venue filled with a lot of natural settings that provide excellent backdrops for photos all throughout the day. Their First Look in the garden (gives us all the heart eyes here!), the ceremony by the lake, portraits everywhere around the property, and the reception in the barn was all so amazing.

While it’s so easy to hype up beautiful wedding venues like this, what always solidifies a memorable wedding day for us are the people involved. This couple is so extremely sweet, and their family & friends did nothing but compliment their day. This is a 10/10 wedding day – and it’s the kind we’d love to be able to shoot again (if only we could invest in some sort of time travel). 🙂

In 2020, we’ll be seeing these two again for their follow up anniversary shoot. We’ll be returning to their little farm for even more goodness (and farm animals – stay tuned!)…

And yes – in between all the gorgeous portraits, candid moments shared together, we’ll have to recreate for a third time that now classic American Gothic photo. It just seems so fitting with their personalities and, well, farming lifestyle 🙂
