Woodsy Engagement Photos in Pennsylvania

We had such a fun time photographing Maggie and Vince’s woodsy engagement photos at a private location here in Pennsylvania. It’s a spot we’re choosing to keep quiet, mostly because it’s unique, peaceful, and still feels relatively untouched. Some beautiful places become well known and then quickly get crowded with photographers, so for this one, we’d rather keep the focus where it belongs – on the photos, the experience, and the two people in front of the camera.

Their session took place later in the evening around golden hour, with a casual stroll through the woods, a little bit of light hiking, pond views, spring flowers, and all the good weather that makes this time of year feel extra alive. It was simple in the best way. Nothing overly complicated or forced, just spending time together, taking advantage of the scenery, and giving them space to relax into the session.

Maggie and Vince were awesome to work with. They felt natural almost immediately, which always makes our job easier, but we still guided them the way we normally do – giving direction when needed, setting up little moments, and helping them feel comfortable without making anything feel too posed. A lot of our favorite photos were the candid in-between moments that happened naturally between them.

One of our favorite parts of engagement sessions is getting to know people before the wedding day, and these two were open books. We talked about travel, cooking, going out to eat, and all the little life things that make a session feel more connected. It made us even more excited to photograph their wedding later this year at Bear Creek Mountain Resort, a venue we’ve worked at many times over the years and one we know will be an awesome backdrop for them and their very large, very friendly group.
