Whitewoods is a wedding venue location situated in Wapwallopen, PA (Northeastern Pennsylvania for those unfamiliar with the area). It is an intimate countryside manor venue that tastefully blends a rustic, French country aesthetic with wide open natural space, towering pines, and more.
What really captured our attention at this venue was just how unexpected and beautiful everything is. When we first walked into the reception hall, we were blown away by how distinct and gorgeous it was. We haven’t seen a venue that has compared. Of course, as tends to be the case for us, we also loved getting to explore and finding little hidden gems on the property to make for the perfect wedding photo backdrops. We’ll show some of these off to you later in this post!
Why It’s Great for Weddings
There are so many great features throughout Whitewoods that make it an optimal location to have a wedding. First of all – there is room for bride & groom preparations earlier in the day, the number of locations that can be used for wedding ceremonies (including a covered pavilion that also serves as a great rainy weather option as weather can never be predicted), and the large reception hall that can seat up to 225 guests comfortably.
More than just our thoughts on the space, we recently asked a couple who’s wedding we photographed at Whitewoods why they chose the space. This is what they had to say…
The venue is beautiful and spacious. The venue is very close to our hometown, where the majority of our guests are coming from. We wanted our ceremony to be at the venue, and Whitewoods has a covered pavilion for outdoor ceremonies.Therefore, if it rains that day, our ceremony plans won’t have to change because the pavilion will cover all the guests.
For most couples, we’d imagine the aesthetic of the venue mixed with the simplicity of it all makes it instantly attractive for hosting a wedding. As a plus – the staff was all great, and we especially loved getting to work with Frank – the wedding coordinator. He was very on top of the days schedule, helped with the flow, and made sure the couple was happy from start to finish.
As wedding photographers, like we mentioned in our intro, there are also a lot of great spaces for photos. From simple wooded backdrops to views with the manor in the background – it’s all great. We particularly loved finding some string lights down in the woods – they created some of our favorite portraits from this wedding day!
