Emmerich Tree Farm is a beautiful place to host a wedding celebration. While the idea of having a wedding at a Christmas tree farm may immediately appeal to the Christmas-lovers out there, this venue really is a perfect space for nature lovers looking for a great alternative to the popular barn wedding trend of the past few years.
We had the opportunity to be involved as wedding photographers here back in September for our couple Lindsay & Sean (you can see their full wedding gallery here and get to know more about Emmerich there, too!).
When we arrived at Emmerich, we were immediately blown away by the space. This is a very unique tree farm that is much different than those around us (down here in Pennsylvania) where we’ve been visiting since we were kids to get our own family Christmas trees. The mountain views from the ceremony site are stunning. The reception patio & tent add some rustic charm and we liked the layout of this space as well between cocktail hour and the actual wedding reception.
Why It’s Great for Weddings
For couple’s who want to be connected with nature, the atmosphere of this place is perfect. The rows of Christmas trees are a given, but it’s all the other elements that really stick out in our minds.
There is a bridal tent on the property – which can make for a great place for brides + her bridesmaids to meet before the wedding ceremony. It comes with power, a mirror, and seating that also allows it to be a good spot for putting on finishing touches before the wedding day really begins. It also serves as a great backdrop for portraits – just saying!
The ceremony space is perfect with a wooden arbor and the jaw dropping views in the background (this really speaks for itself in the photos).
And the reception pavilion and tent are great and can host up to 180 people in attendance. Inside the pavilion, the floor is a smooth concrete and features little rustic accents to add some character. It’s a great space for a fun night of dancing for sure. Inside the tent, you will find string lights and the option to keep things open air or add sides to enclose it.
Right outside of the pavilion is also a firepit – which makes a great location for roasting smores and just taking in the views outside. To our surprise on the evening we were at Emmerich Tree Farm – we were able to see some stars, something we don’t often get to see down in the city where we live.
Outside of the actual location, it’s worth adding that the staff was very helpful and easy to work with. It’s very obvious they want couples and their guests to have a great time while at the tree farm for their wedding.
