Sierra & Tim had an incredible wedding weekend at The Pump House B&B. We find it particularly difficult to put into words how the couple of days we spent with these two and their closest family & friends made us feel. Part of it was our own personal affection for this place – we got married at The Pump House back in 2016. But, seeing the venue from the perspective as established wedding photographers and with such a beautiful, kind, and caring couple that share similar personalities and interests as us just brought things to a whole new level.
There are so many great things to talk about – but we want to start by sharing Sierra’s initial email to us…
“Tim and I met our sophomore year in college through mutual friends. He and I were dating other people at the time, but the night we met my best friend looked at me and said, “He’s going to be your husband.” I laughed. She was dead serious. It was weird. But she was right. We remained “just friends” for a couple years before we started dating our senior year of college. We’ve been best friends & practically inseparable ever since. For the most part Tim and I are totally different people, but we work. I’m the moody introvert, he’s the sweet extrovert. We always have each other’s backs, and that’s something we value above all else. Our wedding will be a memorable celebration of the beautiful fact that we chose each other to spend our days with, but we’re really excited for the life that awaits us once the party’s over and our guests have gone home. If by some magical happenstance you are available for our wedding date, we would love for you to share in this celebration with us.
We do plan to keep things simple yet sweet with a lot of colorful, vintage touches. The Pump House is a very unique and beautiful place so we want to highlight a lot of its quirky charm that matches our relationship so perfectly. 🙂
We are very much drawn to your photos because they are so beautiful and intimate. Tim always looks great, but I am wildly awkward in front of the camera. If we continue taking weird photos for the rest of our lives, I just want our wedding day to be the exception. It’s important to me that our wedding photographer will notice and capture the special details and in between moments of our day.”
As you might imagine, we instantly connected with this vision.
Fast forward, these two came down to our little town of Easton for their unique engagement photos featuring antique stores, ice cream, and other urban vibes. After meeting in person, we were so incredibly excited for their wedding day.
When the day finally arrived, we met in the morning to capture details & preparations. These two had opted for a quite non-traditional wedding – no bridal parties and the entire event taking place from start to finish on the grounds of The Pump House. While preparations were simple, again the focus was able to be on the small details and moments shared with family from the beginning to end of the day.
The ceremony in the woods was to die for – with Sierra’s Grandfather officiating, the faint sounds of the stream in the background and warm, glowing candles creating the perfect mood + sentiment. It was, again, an intimate celebration that had a lot of meaning attached.
The rest of the evening unfolded in much the same way – with friends & family congregating into the industrial barn reception space decked out with strings lights and little personal touches from antiques these two had been collecting for this occasion to hand dyed linens.
While the night came to a close, we returned again to The Pump House B&B in the morning to capture brunch – an amazing perk of getting married at this venue. It was casual and, again, candid family interactions were the most important things.
As you can see – we can rant & rave about Sierra & Tim’s beautiful wedding. It truly was an incredible way to cap off our long 2019 wedding season. Weddings like these are why we have aspired to be wedding photographers, and we look forward to returning to The Pump House in 2020 for another wedding on the books!
