Gabby & Troy’s went through a lot as wedding day plans kept shifting and jostling against a sea of changes brought on by a ton of different things in their lives. Despite it all, they were met with a gorgeous and incredibly memorable day as we celebrated their marriage during a full day elopement held in Shenandoah National Park.
We were able to support them by bringing together extensive research into awesome Airbnb’s (they settled on this amazing A-frame right outside of the park) and location scouting to find some great places to hike and take portraits where they could soak every second in. This particular day we were met with additional set backs with heavy snow and ice up the mountain, and closures of Skyline Drive (the main road that goes through the park), but we’ve always got back up plans and were able to shift and climb Mary’s Rock which connects with the Appalachian Trail – an amazing spot for super memorable and epic photos at the end! Not to mention, it had some serious Narnia vibes going on!
This is one of those days where we could really feel the love radiate and shine through every single moment. These two were just so excited to get married and rolled with every single wave that came their way, and something so much more magical unfolded for them. While this elopement was unconventional in it’s off beat location and small guest list (the bride’s parents and a good friend who also officiated), we can’t even begin to describe how amazing it was to be there and be a part of this journey with Gabby & Troy and document every second of the day unfold for them. These two had one heck of a beautiful and adventurous elopement day in the Shenandoah Mountains! Just see for yourself 🙂
