Just 6 months ago, Jac & Alex set out to plan a beautiful wedding in Easton, PA. While many couples set a date at least a year in advance, these two didn’t want some traditional long engagement.
From the first time we met this couple for their engagement session, their passion for each other was so obvious and infectious. They bonded regularly over drinks, and loved the little city of Easton that we just happened to grow up in (and still live in today!).
We think this wedding may just take the prize for “most wedding vendors chosen within a 5 mile distance from each other.”
When we saw Jac’s initial wedding inquiry for a sweet wedding down at the Simon Silk Mill (not even 5 minutes from our house), we knew we needed to make it happened.
As we got to chatting, we learned that this was going to be a wedding put on with a lot of local flair. In the Silk Mill, we’d be meeting at Ashley Nycole’s Hair & Makeup studio, then hopping over to the walking path along 13th street for a First Look, then coming back to the Brick & Mortar Art Gallery for the ceremony, and wrapping things up at the newly unveiled Separatist Brewing Project’s Blendery.
Sometimes, weddings can feel like a collection of moments that feel like they were forced on the couple, but every part of this day we covered had real meaning as we watched these two express real, heartfelt emotions with each other. From tears of sadness and joy, to laughter with family and friends. It’s this realness that keeps us documenting weddings, and getting to be a part of this special occasion for couple’s like Jac & Alex is incredibly valuable to us.
While these photos really speak for themselves, we want to just give you a quick run down of what to expect from the gallery below.
We started off (as we regularly do) grabbing photos of the bride & groom getting ready for their big day. Jac was at the hair & makeup studio, while Alex was at home with his guys just up the road. Having a husband & wife wedding photo team is really great because we get to be in two places at once when needed!
With a little pre-planning, we found a great spot for a First Look these two could share together over on the Karl Stirner Art Trail. Chris brought Alex over and got him in position, then Jes came over with Jac and…yes…magic happened!
We all then went back over to the Silk Mill to reconvene with the bridal party for some photos, and a special “first look” with their nieces (cute!). From there, it was ceremony time at Brick & Mortar, which then flowed right into a mini-receiving line, family photos, and some sunset portraits. Cocktail hour and the reception followed at the brewery. It was a great time!
