What can we say about Michelle and Matt’s Porta wedding photos from their big day in Asbury Park, NJ? Well – a whole lot it turns out!!
These two planned their wedding with us booked for photography a few years out. We had loved getting to meet for their engagement photos at Longwood Gardens, but seeing their wedding day finally get here was something we were so ecstatic to be a part of.
Their day was beautifully planned – getting ready at an awesome B&B up the road from their venue, Porta, a sweet NJ pizza shop with a unique dark themed event space (you just have to see it to understand it!). The food was great (just a side note there). In between, we got some photos at some popular Asbury Park locations like the boardwalk and carousel.
Like all wedding days, there’s always a little bit of unpredictability that can come – especially with the weather. We ended up treated to pretty persistent rain, but like troopers we were still able to make it outside for some great photos (with clear umbrellas in hand!). If the rain offered us anything, it was the unique opportunity to have most of the spaces to ourselves and brought these two together even more (in a literal, physical sense) and it made for some incredibly authentic portraits!
At Porta, they hosted their ceremony inside and then quickly converted the space over to a dance floor for the reception. It was absolutely a vibe. It was clear all the guests were having a blast – as we can attest to from first hand experience as well as the tons of fun dancing shots we were able to capture!
This wedding at Porta was incredible and we love getting to revisit it in photos, and look forward to being back again in the future with another couple!
