Lauren + Geshan came up from Philly (where we first met them for engagement photos earlier this year!) for a unique elopement at one of our favorite spots in the Poconos. They chose October 31st – Halloween – to tie the knot – because why not 🙂
Leading up to their elopement, we spent a lot of time going back and forth on timing and suggestions, and everything came together really well on the day. While our original plans to have their ceremony in front of Hawk Falls ended up not working out…because this day happened to be around 70 degrees, which is so unseasonably warm, and attracted a ton of people to the area. We were able to find a quiet little nook surrounded by green rhododendrons so they could have more space to themselves to enjoy their marriage ceremony, then we went out to the falls and around the park for portraits after!
Like many weddings this year during the pandemic, they had only a couple of their closest friends in attendance – while family from all over the world Zoom’d in to witness their self-made ceremony. It turned out beautifully.
After the ceremony + portraits around the park, we went over to Barley Creek Brewing Company in the Poconos to close things out with a little fire, marriage certificate signing, and cake cutting. This was a really cool place to hold a little get together as they have outdoor fire pit areas you can reserve to host small groups – really perfect for the times! (We’re also totally going back ourselves because it was that cool!).
