One of the few great things to come from so much down time has been the ability to get out and explore more places in Pennsylvania. We found this quiet, hidden gem out in Jim Thorpe that provides a beautiful backdrop for engagement photos (and more!) nestled in the woods and along a lake. We had posted a quick video of it on our Instagram stories, and shortly after thought it would make a perfect backdrop for Elena + Adam.

We met these two when they referred to us by a Alexis + Ricky, a couple we previously photographed a wedding for. In a fun twist, Elena let us know that Adam actually played the guitar for these two during their wedding day, and we had captured her “favorite” photo of him. Flash forward to now – we’re documenting this sweet couple!

If anything stands out to us about this engagement session, it’s how Adam’s guitar playing was able to soothe and bring a really personal element to it. We were super excited for this for a number of reasons (come on – a guitar looks cool!), and Chris plays guitar on a daily basis (sometimes walking around the house and jamming out), so to have this shared interest was a fun change of pace and made for a great way for these two to connect, as well as bring such a personal + sweet part of their relationship into their photos.

We started off this post with a quote from “Wonderful Tonight” because this resonated with these two, and just “fits” the vibe of this shoot as we ended on the lake as the sun was setting. Now we’re counting down to their August 2021 wedding at Pocono Palms!
