Kait & Ryan have felt like good friends since we first met them at a Panera close to where we live. While not always possible, meeting in person is a great way to get to connect as we talk about our approach to photography and how we can help enhance a wedding day with our creative skills.

We left our meeting feeling really confident about working with these two, and by the time we got home and checked our email, Kait was ecstatic to share they had already decided to book us. It was love at first sight as they say!

Fast forward – their engagement shoot was something we had been looking forward to for a while. They decided to have it at a family farm – and boy were we in for a treat. We absolutely loved that they wanted to incorporated this special place into their photos. They even had a quick wedding there prior to tie the knot (for tax purposes), and will be having a more elaborate wedding next year!

As photographers, the most exciting part about this engagement session (other than working with such a cool couple!) was getting to experiment with our off camera flash in the little rustic cabin they have on the property. This place was the ultimate getaway spot with no electricity running to it – so adding some extra light ourselves was the best way to go. Chris went up in this little loft area and had these two (and their pup) set up camp on a chair – and the rest is history!

With a little bit of rain mixed in, these pictures turned out just great! It was a perfectly moody day!

Now with the engagement photos taken, the excitement is being upped on our end to hang out and capture these two on their wedding day! Stay tuned for more!!
