Kellys Run Nature Preserve Engagement Photos // Holtwood, PA

Couples

Aron and Sydney’s Kellys Run Preserve photos were a really unique hiking-focused engagement session in Pennsylvania. Over the years, we’ve photographed plenty of outdoorsy and hiking-inspired sessions, but this one felt a little more involved in the best way. These two enjoy hiking extensively in their free time, along with some rock climbing, so it made sense to build their session around something that already felt natural to them.

This was our first time photographing at Kellys Run Preserve, and it was quite a drive for us from Easton, PA, but definitely worth it. It’s a really beautiful spot, not only for a hike, but also for more adventurous engagement photos. The whole session had a low-key, candid feeling to it. We photographed Aron and Sydney naturally hiking together, stopping along the trail whenever we found a spot that felt right, and giving them some light direction when needed without making the session feel overly posed.

One of the most memorable parts of the session was coming across a large rock wall where they both got to climb a little bit. It gave us a chance to photograph them more in their element, which is always what we’re looking for with sessions like this. Some of the best moments came from simply setting them up in a loose way and letting things naturally unfold. As with all of our engagement sessions, we also loved getting to spend this time with them and know them more before their wedding at the Pump House B&B later this year.

If you’re planning Kellys Run Preserve engagement photos, Holtwood engagement photos, or an outdoorsy session that feels relaxed and true to you, we’d love to hear from you.
