One of our favorite destinations in Northeast Pennsylvania is the cute and historic town of Jim Thorpe. It’s a place that feels perpetually like Christmas…even in August…and the surrounding landscapes are to die for. Brittany and Matt made the long 3+ hour trek from Long Island, NY to have their engagement photos somewhere unique and exciting – and boy did we have a lot of that!
Despite a late start (thanks NY traffic!) and a threat of thunderstorms (despite weather apps saying we’d be all clear!), we were all game to make the best of it. These two started out the fun by popping a bottle of champagne and enjoying each others company.
They then switched outfits (check out Brittany’s amazing blue dress!) and we made the hike down to a sweet waterfall spot – and we had it all to ourselves. To make things a little more dynamic, we used smoke bombs they brought along to add some extra depth to their photos.
As night crept in, we snuck over to the Boulder Field for some cool photos there in the dark. And finally, a little drive over to the town of Jim Thorpe allowed us to end our engagement shoot on a high note as we roamed the pretty desolate streets, capturing sweet photos along the way with the historic towns great light displays providing great backdrops.
All in all, we loved this shoot! It was so exciting and we look forward so much to being there in 2021 for these two tying the night in NYC!
