Devon & Mike had an incredible wedding day. From the first time we heard from Devon in her inquiry to us, what really stood out to us was one simple sentence that summed up her vision for the day…
“I want everyone to feel loved and comfortable at our wedding, and I want to try to incorporate as many little details around our faith and family as I can to keep the entire day rooted in love.”
As wedding photographers, we love beautiful venues, great decor, and chasing the perfect light – but more importantly that the people involved can really make the day so much more.
Having a great group of friends who are there for you and ready to get down and party at the end of the night (seriously – this party was raging until the venue closed down!), and a great team of vendors to help make sure things run smoothly, is so essential.
Of course – also mixing in the things that are really important about the wedding celebration is wildly important.
We have been exposed to so many different faiths and traditional beliefs by documenting weddings for people – from Catholic services (like you’ll see here), to Jewish ceremonies (here’s an example), and non-traditional weddings in the woods (like this little elopement) – in our experience, the most important element of weddings is the importance placed on the intangible things like love and affection for one another…and it shows in photos time and again…
