Leah & Erik had the sweetest non-traditional elopement ceremony on their families gorgeous wooded property in Bloomsburg, PA. Every little detail was amazing – from Leah’s dark dress, to the vibrant bouquet, to what may be one of the funniest and laughter filled ceremonies we’ve seen to date.
While these two have faced a few roadblocks in their wedding planning together – which led to this mini-wedding shared with the closest family & friends, we are so impressed by how they have rolled with the punches and planned their sweet elopement when their original wedding was going to be held. Truly, their elopement while not what they had planned in the beginning, turned into an evenings so magical and sentimental which was shared with just their family and closet friends.
From their casual yet adventurous engagement photos in Jim Thorpe capped off with a hike to see the waterfalls of Glen Onoko earlier this year until their full blown wedding celebration at The Pump House B&B in Bloomsburg, PA next May – every step of the road has been, and will continue to unfold so beautifully for them.
As we turned onto Leah’s family property we couldn’t help but gasp. It was pretty incredible – as we weren’t quite sure what to expect when arriving. This place really has retreat vibes all over it tucked away in the woods of Bloomsburg – and the natural features made for so many perfect photography backdrops.
Forgoing the traditional, we started off taking some portraits with these two. After wrapping up, we reconvened with their family and made our way over to the ceremony spot in the woods – decked out with candles and florals. Can you say moody and romantic?! These small details created so much atmosphere for sure – and we absolutely loved it.
After the ceremony ended, family photos were taken, and everyone dispersed – we (of course) got to venture around the property a little more with Leah + Erik for some more beautiful golden hour portraits. We worked our way back to the house to wrap things up with a small reception, a couple first dances in their covered outdoor pavilion (the sweetest!), and a little dinner for the group inside.
This little elopement had all the makings of why we can connect so well with these two. The focus on authenticity and actually sharing their love for one another with their family & friends. The love for nature in it’s simplistic beauty. And the casual, laid-back vibes that resonated throughout the entire evening making for an all around perfect time for everyone.
Needless to say – we are so excited to be celebrating with these two again next year at The Pump House and bringing the party up a notch!!
