We’ve had the opportunity to get to know and photograph Emily & Collin over the course of the past 2 years. It all started when we shot their engagement photos at Lehigh University in Bethlehem, PA (with special access given to the Linderman Library there!), then we were there to document their wedding at The Grove at Kempton in July 2018, and now we’re bringing everything full circle with a “Day After”/Anniversary shoot.
These two are absolute naturals with one another, and it shows in their photos. They keep things really lighthearted and fun – with Collin constantly cracking jokes and both of them just laughing all the time. It’s incredible couples like these that make us really thankful to have photography as our passion in life and career choice.
Being so laid back, they let us decide on the location for this anniversary shoot. After doing some extensive Googling, we found a cool, off the beaten path, little book store in West Chester, PA called Baldwin’s Book Barn. We had seen a few other photographers did sessions there, and felt it would really bring together the passion they both had for reading (Emily is a librarian!). The outside of the building also has a lot of great little spots – we could have done all of the photos there!
Of course, loving to add some diversity into the mix, we also took a quick 5 minute drive over to the Robert B. Gordon Natural Area – a small little walking trail right by campus. At the top of the hill, we took full advantage of the Golden sun light peaking through the trees.
Photographing Emily + Collin’s “Day After” shoot ended up being a real celebration of their relationship. At the end of the day we definitely consider them friends, and ending our evening just hanging out for 30 minutes chatting about everything under the sun was perfect 🙂 Can’t wait for the next time we get to see these two!
Our couple’s regularly include “Day After” shoots in their wedding photography packages. You can, of course, book one on it’s own if your wedding day has already come and past!
