Jenny and Shawn’s Workhorse Brewery wedding day (now Bald Birds Brewing) could pretty easily be remembered as laid-back and fun. We started with them for prep photos at the Alloy Hotel in King of Prussia, where they also had their first look. Doing that early in the day made it much easier for everyone to transition into the different locations they had planned for the ceremony, portraits, and reception.
Their ceremony was held in the backyard of Shawn’s parents’ home in Jamison, PA, which gave the day a personal, familiar feeling right from the start. Family and friends were able to gather there comfortably, and after the ceremony, we made time for portraits, family photos, and some quieter moments with the two of them. Before heading to the reception, we also stopped at a little garden area outside of Philadelphia where Jenny and Shawn shared private vows together and had more space for portraits. Even though the day was fairly packed with different locations and moving pieces, it still felt relaxed, largely because we had worked together on a timeline that gave us enough room for everything they wanted.
To cap off the day, they celebrated at Workhorse Brewing Company (updated: now Bald Birds Brewery as of late 2025), which ended up being such a cool and unique backdrop for the reception. The space had beautiful natural light pouring in through the windows, along with a lot of interesting backdrops throughout the brewery.
Jenny and Shawn also took a more non-traditional approach to their reception. Instead of centering the night around dancing, they prioritized mingling, conversation, and giving people plenty of room to just interact and spend time together. A big priority for us throughout the day was capturing those candid pieces – people talking, laughing, catching up, and genuinely enjoying themselves. We even finished with some sunset photos at a unique park we found nearby, which felt like a really nice final piece to an already full day.
