Our 5.5 hour trip up to Boston to photograph a sweet engagement session for Alex & Anthony brought out some of our favorite parts about being photographers.

We love being on the road and traveling to new places. This was our first time getting to explore Boston, and we spent 2 nights in the area taking in some of the sights the city had to offer. We rented an AirBNB in Jamaica Plain – a little suburb of the city about 5 minutes away from the Arnold Arboretum of Harvard University where we ended up doing our shoot together.

We arrived in the city on a Friday night – and quickly went over to scout out the arboretum. It’s a massive location – and gives off some serious NYC Central Park vibes. When time permits, we love to check out new places in advance of our sessions to get a good lay of the land. That night – we also went out to dinner at a little Mexican restaurant, and had probably some of the best guac we’ve had in a long time!

The next day, we revisited the Arboretum with these two and had a great time. Their style and personalities fit so perfectly with our approach to photography – and we think this shines through in their engagement gallery! It makes us so excited to be seeing them again next October for their wedding in Connecticut!!

After our shoot ended as the sun went down, we took a little trip into the city to go out to dinner with some family we hadn’t seen in a few years – not since our own wedding in 2016! It was an experience to say the least getting into the city by train, but if our experience is accurate at all – Boston has a great food scene for sure. Driving around Boston is also a crazy experience, never have we seen such crazy round-abouts with traffic coming from all directions! All you Boston drivers out there, we give you major props.
