A Sweet Maternity Session at Cross Estate Gardens in New Jersey

We were really excited when Sophia and Joe reached out to us for their Cross Estate Gardens maternity photos in New Jersey. We have a bit of history with these two, which made this session feel extra special. They originally hired us a few years back for their engagement photos at Waterloo Village, then their wedding at Sylvan Ridge in Milford, PA. Getting to reconnect with them then, surrounded by their friends and family, was something we still look back on fondly.

It is always exciting when past couples reach back out for us to photograph other milestones in their lives. In this case, Sophia and Joe are getting ready to welcome a baby boy in the near future, and being able to create maternity photos for them felt really meaningful. It feels even more personal to us now that we have our own son. We have been through the engaged-and-getting-married season ourselves, which is something we often connect with couples about, but now we also understand a little more deeply what it feels like to start building a family together.

When Sophia and Joe first reached out, they were not completely sure where they wanted to take their photos, so we suggested a few options. Cross Estate Gardens quickly felt like the right fit. It is one of our favorite garden-style outdoor locations in New Jersey because it is low-key, naturally beautiful, and full of little spots to stop without the session feeling overly planned or rigid. We got to mosey around the gardens, pause wherever felt right, and spend the time catching up with them while photographing this next chapter. You can see so much joy and excitement in their photos for their little one coming soon, and we honestly could not be more excited for them.
