Mindy and Josh’s Jacobsburg State Park engagement photos felt like a pleasant stroll through one of our favorite places for engagement sessions here in the Lehigh Valley. Jacobsburg has a little bit of everything – wooded trails, quiet open areas, garden spots, and the river, which always makes for a great way to end a session.
These two were a little quieter at first, which is something we experience pretty often with couples. For many people, an engagement session is the first time they’ve had professional photos taken together beyond a quick selfie on a phone. So we never expect anyone to show up feeling completely comfortable right away. We started on one of the quieter sides of Jacobsburg, and at the time we were there, there was pretty much nobody else around. As we walked, talked, and got to know each other a little more, Mindy and Josh gradually opened up, and within minutes we were seeing them naturally laughing and having a great time together.
We explored a few different areas throughout the park, including a little garden section before they changed into a second outfit and we made our way down by the river. That part of Jacobsburg is always such a beautiful backdrop, especially for couples who want their photos to feel relaxed, natural, and not overly posed. Like virtually all of our engagement sessions, getting to spend this time with them made us even more excited to photograph their full wedding later this year at the Pump House B&B.
If you’re planning your own engagement session in the Lehigh Valley and want photos that feel natural, comfortable, and true to you, we’d love to hear from you.
