Brielle & Kevin are a couple after our own hearts, and capturing their sweet engagement photos was a great way to kick off our 2020 engagement season.
From the first time they reached out to us, their excitement for their wedding day at the beach (coming this summer – July 4th!), surrounded by family and friends, and to be complimented by our photography is what we really love about being wedding photographers. Just married bride & groom sunset portraits on the beach?? We can’t wait!!
Capturing couples with such an obvious affection for one another, and sharing mutual interests for things like Harry Potter and cats (Ace makes a guest appearance in the first half of this post!) makes the entire experience from start to finish fun for everyone involved.
We started their engagement session at their apartment – showcasing a real part of their lives together in a space that has plenty of meaning to them. We love these “in home” shoots because documenting candid moments shared between couples is a beautiful thing – from playing a round of Jenga (guess who won?!?) to snuggles with the cats.
We then went over to one of our favorite local spots – Merrill Creek Reservoir – for some outdoor shots.
We got an incredible foggy day that added some extra special moodiness to these pictures that we absolutely love. There’s probably no better way to cap off a session than by talking about some great Netflix shows like The Haunting of Hill House and Mindhunter, Chris walking into the freezing water for a shot he had in mind (he said…”It’s only January…”), and taking their last portraits lying in an amazing field while we performed our mini-circus act to get the shot we wanted (comes complimentary with many engagement shoots these days!).
